Oshkosh Area United Way (OAUW) recently received an incredible donation of 75,000 diapers from Kimberly-Clark to help families across the Oshkosh area. These diapers will be stored in the OAUW LIVE UNITED Community Vault and distributed to local agencies that support families facing diaper need.
With each child typically requiring around 50 diapers per week, this donation offers a huge boost to families struggling to meet their basic needs. By working with community partners, OAUW ensures that these diapers will reach those who need them most, providing much-needed relief to families across southern Winnebago County.
Volunteering to Make an Impact
OAUW doesn’t just store these supplies—they actively engage volunteers to help with diaper-packing events. During these group volunteer opportunities, community members assemble packs of diapers for distribution to agencies serving families in need. This hands-on effort allows volunteers to directly contribute to the well-being of local families, ensuring that diapers quickly and efficiently reach those in need.
As Beth Oswald, President & CEO of OAUW, explains, “Kimberly-Clark’s donation, combined with the power of volunteer support, will make a lasting impact on our community. In the Oshkosh area, many households struggle to meet basic needs, and diapers are a crucial part of ensuring children’s health and well-being.”
The Urgent Need for Diapers
Across the U.S., many families struggle with diaper need. The National Diaper Bank Network reports that one in two families lacks enough diapers to keep their babies clean, dry, and healthy. The consequences of this gap extend beyond basic care—parents who can’t afford diapers often miss work or school due to lack of childcare.
By providing diapers, OAUW is helping to address a critical need for Oshkosh area families. Diapers help ensure the health and comfort of children, allowing parents to focus on other important aspects of family life.
A Heartfelt Thanks to Kimberly-Clark
OAUW extends its deep gratitude to Kimberly-Clark for this generous donation. Their continued commitment to supporting Oshkosh and the surrounding area makes a tremendous difference for families in need. Combined with the help of dedicated volunteers, Kimberly-Clark’s donation ensures that children in the area will have access to the essential supplies they need for a healthier start in life.
Through community partnerships and volunteer efforts, OAUW will continue to work toward a future where all families have the resources they need to thrive.
