Elissa works with new parents to provide support and guidance through the Home Visitation program to make sure their young children are hitting their developmental milestones. This ensures the child is healthy and set up for social, physical, and educational success.

When Houa’s young sons participated in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, she did not realize the impact the free, monthly book subscription program would have on their passion for reading and successful academic careers.

SOLUTIONS RECOVERY
Individuals in our community can get assistance from Trevor and his team at Solutions Recovery to transition healthily through their recovery from substance abuse. Solutions Recovery helps remove barriers to get into recovery and provides a variety of programs to help get them back on their feet and become self-sufficient.

SOLUTIONS SOBER LIVING
Nick struggled for years with addiction but was able to turn his life around with the help of Sober Living. The program has helped him find his purpose as he helps his peers deal with their own addiction challenges.

MENTAL HEALTH INITIATIVE
After hitting a rough batch which resulted in being treated for substance abuse, Casey also found support through the Fire Dept.’s mental health videos. He learned impactful ways to communicate and handle stressful situations to continue a healthier life.

EMERGENCY SHELTER
In addition to providing a safe environment to all individuals and families that are impacted by domestic abuse, Alicia, her pal Ross, and her team at Christine Ann provide a variety of services to anyone in our community who is in need. This includes empowerment outreach, legal assistance, and youth prevention services.

SAMARITAN COUNSELING SERVICES
Despite maintaining her grades and relationships after the passing of her father, Kristin’s daughter was identified as “At Risk” after receiving a mental health assessment at the high school. Once Kristin was informed, she was able to get the much-needed help and resources for her daughter so she could graduate and start a successful career and family.

SKILLS ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM
As the skills enhancement coordinator through ADVOCAP, Jan helped a low-income fast-food worker obtain the necessary skills through education to become more marketable. As a result, the client received a job offer in the medical field and earned four times more than before completing the program.

RESOURCE COORDINATION
Denise and the team at Day By Day Shelter are available to meet individuals in our community where they are and to help them become self-sufficient. The shelter provides beds to individuals in need as well as programming that assists with basic needs, housing, employment, health and wellness, sobriety, education, and more.

OAUW VOLUNTEER CENTER
Pam sought a dependable volunteer for her ‘Clean Freaks Needed!’ initiative. Posting on Oshkosh Area United Way’s Volunteer Center site, VolunteerOshkosh.org, she quickly found a match. Billy, taking a break from school, was eager for a volunteer opportunity and responded promptly. Impressed by Billy’s dedication, Pam and her team invited him to join their organization.
